First post

My weight has always been an issue for me, for as long as I can remember I've tried various diets, exercise regimes and weight loss techniques. And a lack of motivation and love of chocolate meant they didn't work.
When I was fifteen I joined Slimming World, I lost a few stone, and for the first time in my life I was a size 12. But over the years, the weight slowly crept up. And now, at 21 and a size 20-22 I've decided it's time to change.

Easy you may say? With the correct diet and exercise, being the weight I am the weight should drop off me easily? Nope, absolutely not. I suffer from a condition called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS for short), which makes it incredibly difficult for me to lose weight, it also means I'm at a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease and infertility. I know what you're thinking "oh, another fat girl using some lame excuse for being overweight", I've heard it all before. I've had such a hard time with PCOS and all of the symptoms that come along with it, it seems like every time I lose 7lb my body physically stops me from losing any more, and I lose all faith and just seem to give up. And this time, I will not let this get the better of me.

Over the past 2 months or so, I've changed my eating habits, eating healthily, lots of vegetables, a lot more water. I still treat myself to chocolate once in a while, but in moderation. I've been going to the gym 5 days out of 7, and I can feel a difference already.

I still have a long way to go, but I'm going to use this blog and my love of writing as even more motivation, and maybe one day I'll figure out how to make my page look all pretty.
